The best Magento hosting is the one whose team already knows what your store will do at 2 am on the first day of a sale. Magento 2 needs a tuned stack (Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, a sized PHP-FPM pool and its scheduled cron groups), and most hosting is sold without it. This guide sets out what a production store needs, compares the six kinds of host that sell Magento hosting in 2026, and gives a recommendation by store size. For a store selling to India, our recommendation is managed Magento hosting in Mumbai, which is what we sell, and the reasons are below for you to check.
Last verified: 12 October 2026. ZenoCloud prices, the US Magento specialist's prices, AWS and shared-hosting prices were checked on 12 October 2026; the self-serve panel and European specialist entry prices are from our July 2026 check and are marked as such. Market conversions use ₹95.78 to the dollar and a rounded ₹107 to the euro (ECB, 12 October 2026). ZenoCloud's dollar figures are its separately published prices. All prices exclude tax.
What a production Magento 2 stack needs
- Elasticsearch or OpenSearch for catalogue search. Magento 2.4 requires one (Adobe's system requirements); MySQL search was removed. A host that does not run and maintain a search service leaves your search broken or on an underpowered single node.
- Varnish full-page cache with Magento's cache tagging configured. A generic Varnish caches the wrong things.
- Redis for sessions and the backend cache, so that sessions survive deploys and do not contend on files under load.
- Cron for indexing, email queues, sitemaps and currency updates, scheduled in groups.
- PHP-FPM sized to the catalogue and traffic. Memory and process settings for a large catalogue of configurable products differ from those for a small one.
- Nginx or LiteSpeed with Magento's rewrites, security headers and static asset rules.
- A staging environment where patches and extensions are tested before production.
Every category below is judged on whether it delivers these by default, who fixes them when they break, where the server is, and what it costs.
The six kinds of Magento host
1. Managed Magento hosting in India (ZenoCloud)
Price: ₹12,000 ($145), ₹25,000 ($300) and ₹55,000 ($660) a month, from the Magento hosting page on 12 October 2026. Stack: Elasticsearch, Redis and Varnish pre-configured, Cloudflare CDN, managed SSL, Hyvä supported. Expertise: every plan is run by Magento engineers; 2,000-plus Magento migrations since 2009.
The server is sized to the catalogue and traffic and stated in the quote. Magento security patches are applied in staging first and tested against your extensions, with critical patches (CVSS 9 and above) within 24 hours. Free zero-downtime migration on every plan, usually within 48 hours. 99.9% uptime SLA with 24/7 P1 incident response; support SLAs of 8 hours (Starter, email), 4 hours (Business, email and tickets) and 1 hour (Enterprise, Slack or WhatsApp). Staging from Business; full WAF, 24/7 monitoring and vulnerability management on Enterprise. Rupee invoice with GST.
Honest limits: no automatic scaling on the standard plans (we pre-scale for the sale dates you give us and quote multi-node setups); no phone queue; public prices are for Mumbai, other countries on request.
Best for: stores selling to India and South Asia, from a few hundred SKUs to enterprise catalogues; agencies running several client stores; anyone who wants the engineers who run the store to be the people who answer.
2. US Magento-specialist platforms
Price: the platform we checked on 12 October 2026 lists plans from $74 to $409 a month before tax (about ₹7,100 to ₹39,200), with introductory discounts for new accounts. Stack: configured Varnish and Redis, an isolated OpenSearch container, Cloudflare-powered CDN, daily backups. Expertise: 24/7/365 Magento support.
Automatic scaling of PHP workers, storage and bandwidth allowances by tier, dedicated environments, PCI compliance; plans are sized by workers and sites rather than by server.
Honest limits: US-based provider (our earlier research also recorded EU and Australian presence; the region for each plan was not established in October); as a regional illustration, our 12 October 2026 samples from Noida to an AWS US East endpoint ran 277 to 347 ms against 31 to 45 ms to AWS Mumbai; dollar billing.
Best for: stores selling to North America that want auto-scaling and a known platform.
3. Self-serve panel platforms on public clouds
Price: at our July 2026 check, entry offers ranged from about $14 to $36 a month before add-ons, depending on the public cloud underneath; not re-verified in October. Stack: Varnish and Redis available; search services minimal or extra on lower plans. Expertise: platform support; Magento-specific problems go to your developer.
The panel is the product: one-click staging, cloning, vertical scaling, Git deployment. The entry server is not a production Magento server; budget for a larger server plus your own developer's time, and request a current quote.
Best for: developers and small agencies who want to run their own Magento infrastructure through a panel and handle Magento tuning themselves.
4. European Magento specialists
Price: from about €69 a month (₹7,400) at our July 2026 check (not re-verified in October). Stack: full and preconfigured, with CLI tooling and developer-level support. Expertise: high.
Honest limits: infrastructure is strongest in the EU, so for an Indian store the location and billing questions are the same kind as for the US platforms (our samples to AWS Frankfurt from Noida ran 169 to 209 ms); billing is in euros.
Best for: European merchants and agencies, and stores that need EU data residency.
5. Shared hosting with Magento installed
Price: across the shared-hosting pages we read on 12 October 2026, rupee promotional prices ran from ₹69 to ₹599 a month on multi-year prepaid terms (renewing at ₹289 to ₹1,599) and dollar offers from about $4 to $11 (renewing at about $18 to $45); location disclosure varied. Stack: no Varnish, limited or no Redis, no Elasticsearch or OpenSearch on the shared plans we have seen. Expertise: general.
Verify that any shared plan supports your Magento version and its required search, cache and background services before relying on it. Magento 2.4's search requirement alone rules out most.
Best for: testing a Magento concept before any revenue. Plan to move before launch.
6. Adobe Commerce Cloud and do-it-yourself AWS
Adobe Commerce Cloud is Adobe's own managed platform, sold on quote with the Adobe Commerce licence and normally implemented with a system integrator. If you need it, obtain a current quote covering the licence, hosting region, included services and implementation. Best for: large enterprises already in the Adobe ecosystem.
AWS, built by your team: an m6i.xlarge in Mumbai (4 vCPU, 16 GiB) was $0.202 an hour on 12 October 2026, about $147 at 730 hours, before RDS, OpenSearch Service, ElastiCache, storage, transfer and the engineer who runs it. It is the right answer for a store that needs elastic scaling or AWS services, and only with someone owning the account. We run AWS accounts on a fixed monthly fee if that someone is missing: Managed AWS hosting.

Which to choose, by store size (our rule of thumb)
- Testing an idea, no revenue: shared hosting or a small panel server, and plan the move.
- Up to a few crore a year, selling to India: ZenoCloud Starter or Business, ₹12,000 to ₹25,000 a month. Server in Mumbai sized to the store, free migration, patches tested in staging.
- Larger stores selling to India, or stores that cannot afford a slow sale day: ZenoCloud Enterprise at ₹55,000 with full WAF, 24/7 monitoring and a 1-hour SLA, or a multi-node configuration on quote.
- Selling mainly to North America or Europe: a US or European specialist near your shoppers; we can quote a US or German server on request if you want one vendor.
- Enterprise with an Adobe licence or a hard AWS requirement: Adobe Commerce Cloud, or AWS with a team that owns it.
Size the plan on catalogue size, measured load, integrations and the support you need, not on revenue alone.
Magento or Shopify?
Every Magento hosting conversation in 2026 reaches this question. Shopify is the right platform for a catalogue-driven store with a standard checkout and no appetite for servers. Magento keeps its case where a store needs native B2B features, several stores or brands on one admin, deep checkout and pricing customisation, or ownership of its data on its own servers. Compare the exact Magento or Adobe Commerce edition with the Shopify plan you would buy, including transaction charges and current pricing, before deciding; the hosting comparison alone does not settle it.
Our recommendation
For a store selling to India, managed Magento hosting in Mumbai, run by Magento engineers based in India who already know the stack. We offer a free speed and infrastructure audit before any migration: TTFB, caching gaps, extension conflicts and a before-and-after projection, with no obligation. Ask for the audit or see the Magento plans.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best hosting for Magento 2 in India?
For a store selling to Indian shoppers, managed Magento hosting in Mumbai: Elasticsearch, Redis and Varnish configured, patches tested in staging, Magento engineers on IST and a rupee invoice. ZenoCloud's plans start at ₹12,000 a month as of 12 October 2026.
How much does Magento hosting cost?
ZenoCloud's managed Magento plans are ₹12,000 to ₹55,000 a month (12 October 2026). The US Magento specialist we checked lists $74 to $409. AWS m6i.xlarge compute in Mumbai is about $147 for 730 hours before other services. Request current quotes for the other categories.
Can Magento run on shared hosting?
Magento 2.4 requires Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, which the shared plans we have seen do not provide, and a production store needs Varnish and Redis. A small test store can run on shared hosting; verify the search, cache and cron support before trusting it with revenue.
Does Magento hosting need Varnish and Redis?
For any store with real traffic, yes. Varnish serves cached pages without running PHP, and Redis keeps sessions and the backend cache in memory across deploys. Without them page rendering and sessions fall back to slower paths under load.
Should I move my Magento store to Shopify?
Only if your store is catalogue-driven with a standard checkout and you want no servers. Keep Magento for native B2B, several stores on one admin, custom pricing or checkout logic, and ownership of your data, and compare the specific plans and costs before deciding.
Does ZenoCloud migrate Magento stores for free?
Yes, on every plan: we clone the store to Mumbai, test catalogue, checkout and extensions on staging, then switch DNS with no downtime, usually within 48 hours. A free speed and infrastructure audit is available before you commit.
