What is Search Weight?
Search weight is a value (0-100) that determines:
- Result ranking importance
- Which attribute matches first
- Relevance of search results
- Product visibility in searches
Attributes You Can Weight
- Product name (highest priority)
- SKU
- Description
- Short description
- Custom attributes
- Meta keywords
Configuring Search Weight
- Go to Stores > Attributes > Product
- Click on attribute to edit
- Expand "Search Properties" section
- Set "Search Weight" value (1-100)
- Save attribute
Weight Recommendations
- Product Name: 6-8 (highest)
- SKU: 4-5
- Custom SKU: 3-4
- Description: 2-3
- Short Description: 1-2
